Welcome back to The Road2Wholeness Blog and our 7 Blogs in 7 Days.  Today is day 5.  We go back to the Book of Genesis for another look at "The Deep".

Today we look at purpose.  We pick up at Genesis 2:15.  It reads, "The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it."  Working with the ideas that we've adapted since the first blog of "The Deep", let's read the above scripture again.

How often do we think of ourselves as the one who is working and developing our purpose; probably always.  This has been the way of the world that we live in.  But if the mind is the garden and Adam is purpose, then we can begin to see that the opposite is really taking place.

Can you see God's purpose working in your life?  Can you see it shaping and molding you?  And if it's purpose that's in the lead, where do you and your vision fit?

Let's jump ahead for a moment.  You've probably all heard of "supply and demand".  First comes the supply and then the demand.  But, in God's story... the mind makes a demand on the man.  We usually look at supply and demand separately.  In business, the supplier would be separate from the customer who makes the demand, but here the supply is making the demand.  This is a choice that we would ultimately need to make in mirroring God's way of manifesting and creating.  We can study the demands of the world and create a supply.  This is often taught, and is called filling a void.  Or we can create a supply and allow the supply to make a demand.  In the above scripture, God has already prepared a garden.  Therefore we know that Adam's purpose is not to create a garden, but to work and take care of a garden.  Ultimately, he is not being asked to develop anything, but he is to be developed.

Did you know that God is not asking you to develop a purpose?  Rather, God has made it so that your purpose is developing you.

In the case of Adam and the garden, we know that the garden is supplying more to Adam than Adam is supplying to the garden because there is an overabundance of vegetation and fruit bearing trees.  This is also clarified in Genesis 3:17-19 when God punishes Adam saying "Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat from it'.. Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it... By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground..."  Thus, back in Genesis 2:15 when God said "work it and take care of it" God was not speaking about the natural work of farming.

Thinking back on yesterday's blog, the question of coming to the river flowing from Eden certainly becomes easier when we acknowledge that what we are attempting to bring forth also demands to come forth and has been purposed thru the Creator of Light. The key to continuing in the unfolding of the immaterial essence within us or our purpose is to remain in God's light.  By His light we receive visions, instructions, ideas, and commands that guides us.  When we speak into these things, and work and take care of them; streams spring up in our lives to push our purpose and development along.

On the subject of light.  Let's look at Genesis 3:8-9.  It reads, "Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.  But the Lord God called to the man , 'Where are you?'  He answered, 'I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.'"

Question:  Could it be that God did not initially spot the man and woman He had created and had not yet given garments of skin because their light had gone dim?  Stop here and consider how you actively keep God's light on within you.  If you've never thought about this, now is the time, for we've already discovered that in the matter of creating there is living and mourning.

Do not begin until you have summoned your light.
