After the Download

First things first: Welcome Back!  Thank you for taking the read today and ultimately the walk with The Road2Wholeness Blog.
You may be asking… “What download”??  The Download of Healing!
You see many times we seek healing or we believe we are healed yet we get the feeling that still something is missing; like perhaps we missed a step or we’re left with the feeling… “There’s got to be more”.  The truth is there is more!
Essentially what most people miss is the awareness that it doesn’t end with healing but it begins with healing.   So the work is not done but just getting started.  I’m going to liken the word healing to the word download for the purpose of drawing you an illustration and helping you see my point clearly.
Think about when you download a program on your computer.  Better yet, let’s back up!  Think of when you decide or choose to ‘run’ a program on your computer.  Usually before you download any program you are prompted to choose to “run the program” or to “run and open” the program.  This in essence is what we’re looking at.  Many times when we receive a healing word or have a healing encounter with God, we fail to unpack the healing.  We got the download but we don’t open the package or program and worse yet, we never move into the installation process.  Part of the reason we feel like something’s still missing is because something is missing; it’s the installation or application step.  Now I’m going to liken the word installation to the word application.  Have you installed the healing you received in faith?  Maybe you thought your faith was weak and perhaps the healing didn’t come when in fact the healing has been downloaded but it's lying dormant waiting to be opened and installed.
Now you might ask what does that look like.  What does unpacking the healing look like?  Well, in short; honestly… It looks like work.  And perhaps we know it and it’s why we never approach it or decided to apply it.  You see, healing is when all the cracks are mended so that you stop leaking.  It’s when the wounds are stitched and left to cure, lest you not giving proper time for complete resolution, allow yourself or another to rip all the stitches out and you return to being wounded.  Sometimes, we even forget to keep the area clean and those wounds end up infected before they can fully resolve.  In more ways than one, you can see that healing is a process in which we can hinder or that can be hindered.  God makes His healing power freely available yet it takes knowledge to fully apply it and protect it.  Therefore before you doubt the power, take account of all the possible points of interference.
Still, the question remains… “What does the installation process look like?” and “What does it call for?”  This is the part that most prefer to overlook because it doesn’t happen as swiftly in real life as it does on our smart phones.  In fact, if it is in a “Zip” file (yes, pun intended) when we open it, we discover many folders (aka Layers).  This is the truth about wholeness.  You see, the healing power of God is a quick download but uprightness is a walk back home.
Really quickly, let’s zoom out and look at the idea of healing being just the beginning and not the end from a biblical standpoint.  God sent The Son, Jesus and called Him to be a bridge to reconcile man to his maker.  Jesus while on earth healed people and also taught others how to administer healing but did not fix the problems of the world at large.  Why?  He left us to fix it!  In essence, the idea of “you now have the power to fix it” was conveyed then and is still being conveyed now.  God’s healing power and grace is in essence "The Power" to fix it and our call is…“to fix it”.  Therefore, we call on God for healing and God downloads within us His strength and power and then calls on us “To Fix It”.
Now when we look at our “Soul-Work” which I will liken here to the common use of the word “homework”, there are many things we are called to work at.  It’s not a day’s work.   It’s not even a year’s work.  Ultimately, It’s the work of a lifetime but we go about it IN PEACE that we may not cause harm or further damage to humanity and those around us as we do our work unpacking, discarding, and properly arranging the things we have stored up in our storehouse (the soul).
This is why I believe Jesus often said after performing a healing… “Go in Peace”.  It is because peace is the proof that we have sat at His feet (or encountered Him) and that we still do .
As always, I encourage you go within that you may never go without.  The God within you awaits you.  Until our paths collide again, I wish you… Peace, Love, Life, and Harmony.
