Welcome back to The Road2Wholeness Blog! Thank you for supporting our latest blog series, "7 Wisdom Building Scriptures". Today we are on to the final blog in this serie.
Let's go to 1 Chronicles 21:13 for our 7th Wisdom Building Scripture.
It reads, "David said.. I am in great distress. Let me fall into the hands of the Lord, for his mercy is very great; but do not let me fall into human hands."
Let's gain perspective. If we pick up with this account from verse 9, we will see what calamities King David was facing. Let's read.. "And the Lord spoke to Gad, David's seer, saying 'Go and say to David, Thus says the Lord, Three things I offer you, choose one of them, that I may do it to you. ' Three years of famine, three months of devastation by your foes while the sword of your enemies overtake you, or else three days of the sword of the Lord, with pestilence on the land, with the angel of the Lord destroying throughout all territory of Israel. Now decide.."
Sometimes it's easy to look at our grievances with disdain and to ask why we might be faced with tumultuous times, but remember the Lord's ways. Remember that He is walking faithfully with us, and that He is not seeing us removed of the entirety of your journey, but as a close and knowledgeable Father.
Throughout the Bible we see that the Father is just. We saw Abraham bargain with God to save the righteous. All over the Bible we get to grow an awareness of the true and living God. In this story, David leads with great example, but God speaks with greater discernment; going from degree to degree of devastation. Another character trait of a faithful God is that He certainly tells the end in the beginning. Here we see that His justice and righteousness is in foretelling, and once again, in giving choices.
Remember to go within that you may never go without. The God within you awaits you. Until our paths collide again, I wish you... Peace, Love, Life, and a Faithful walk with Christ.
In Service,
Natisha Renee Williams
