Welcome back to The Road2Wholeness Blog.
Thank you for taking the stroll with us today, and with Life of LAB Y'ear 4. That's correct..
Your Ear 4!
Sift! "Give me Factions, Give me Fractions, but still give me Fiction!" Is the meaning behind all inventions in fiction tactical? In the Bible today... what is left after all the divisions, the sorting, and the inventions?
How did the Goat become a Sheep?
From a Sheep herder to a King of 2 Nations or Tribes of Israel, King David rises and rises through the wilderness experience to be Lamb of God. When he first fought Goliath, David didn't stop to think, pray, or ask a single question. He never doubted his strength or the Lord's might. He took his sling and brought down a giant. Over the course of 6-Blogs in this Life of LAB Quick lab series, we've been watching the transformation.
Now let's look at the distinctions between Goat and Sheep.
The muskoxen (a metal goat).. even-toed, uncastrated; a bull. Symbolically the goat is known as kindhearted, gentle, and representing justice. The metal goat then is said to be sensitive, creative, loyal, and talented.
As we move through The Book of Samuel, we see many similarities between David's life as a goat. He appears to be stronger and more dominant as a sheep herder than the anointed one on the run, but if we reference the words Satisfactory, Intermediary, and Tactically.. We'll see that David is only palatable, agreeable, and competent at the start of his journey and that his competence as a King is lastly tested in the book of 2 Samuel chapter 24.
What is seen through out is David as a burnt offering and his willingness will minimal lament to pay his sacrifices to the Lord. In 2 Samuel 24, he says, "I insist on paying.. I will not sacrifice to the Lord my burnt offerings that cost me nothing."
As king David is dealt with brutally in the wilderness, we see more of the sheep that the Lord is calling forth. It's as if watching him come back home from being out in the fields. We can see the domestication that he undergoes as he collects his followers, and ends his clearing of the threshing floor in Samuel 30 with six hundred men. Take a look at the symbolism attached to the sheep.
The sheep.. meat, milk, wool. Here sheep becomes a product of value verses the goat's symbolism which is of character basis; meat (animal flesh which is eaten as food, milk (a nutrient rich liquid), and wool (insulation). The preparation of the lamb is not intermediary in nature, but is a carefully planned regimen to gain a specified end.
In blog 6 we talked about "The Scape-goat". In Leviticus 16:28, this principle is taught to Aaron in order to repent for all of Israel. He is to lay both hands on the head of the live goat and confess all over it all the wickedness and rebellion of the Israelites. The Bible reports that, "the goat will carry on itself all their sins to a remote place; and the man shall release it in the wilderness."
But most importantly, we learned and saw a correlation between blog 1 and 5, where David's ordinance in Samuel chapter 30 for all to share alike in the rewards of battle was the reason why he'd made a strict request of Nabal to repay his debts to David and his men for watching over his servants things while they were with them. The ordinance was that "All will share alike"; that the men who stayed back with the men's things and watching over the wives and children even would receive equally from the plunder. This principle was also highlighted by the fact that David's camp was raided when they went out to battle and left all behind. In this moment they had not been forsaken by God, but David would take his strongest hit on the way to becoming King. Here his men's wives and their young were taken away and his men were planning on stoning him.
Here David shows he is still of great character and that he is still even-toed. He enter The Most Holy Place and leaves horns at the altar in an impassable wilderness.
