Thank you for visiting The Road2Wholeness Blog. We hope you enjoyed the first blog in MIC.. Mysteries in Common. We'll be picking up with the blog series in December after Life of LAB. This year our Life of LAB series is called "Sift". Today we begin the 7-Day Quick LAB series.
Sift! Give me Factions, Give me Fractions, but still give me Fiction! Is the meaning behind all inventions in fiction tactical? In the Bible today... what is left after all the divisions, the sorting, and the inventions?
In Samuel 25, David sends his men to greet a man named Nabal. The message he sent was "Therefore be favorable toward my men, since we come at a festive time. Please give your servants and your son David whatever you can find for them." The game of "Sift" is "What do you hear"? What then is the meaning "your son David" to Nabal?
In response, Nabal replies.. "Who is this David? Who is this son of Jesse? Many servants are breaking away from their masters these days." With this, David's name is cursed and Nabal does not know that he has cursed the name of the Lord.
In response to Nabal's message to David, David is determined to take up his sword, but when Nabal's wife Abigail decides to turn the curse onto her own husband and keep the blood off of David's hands, the question becomes clear and David's throne is just about prepared.
Tell me, what do you hear when you hear "Your Son David"?
Coming up tomorrow in Sift we'll take a closer look at this story and continue to pull more from what Abigail did to prove herself worthy to be the wife of David.
