Today
we’re talking life. Zoe Life!
I was in
study the other day, and this understanding came to me.
So,
we’ve all probably heard or read the scripture which says that Jesus came that
we might have life and life abundantly.
Based on the revelation I received, I might say that the word abundantly
is not the best word to relay the message I now take from that scripture. It’s so amazing to me how one word can change
the entire way I hear, perceive, and understand a particular scripture.
Well,
there’s no doubt that this is the land of the living. But why did Jesus say life and life
abundantly? He was making a distinction
between the life that every human has by nature, and then the eternal life which
he would make available. It’s life never
ending. It’s life regenerated. It’s life abundantly!
Ultimately,
Jesus died that many may be raised up; one body was slain that many souls will
live again— in and out of time. Jesus
says in John 14:6, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” My understanding of that scripture is that
Jesus is the way to eternal life, Jesus is and was the Word made flesh
(therefore truth), and Jesus is and was the manifested presence of God (the
life of God). Zoe Life begins when we
acknowledge and believe that Jesus is indeed the way, the truth, and the
life.
To some, the gift of having a saved soul may appear to be unnecessary and unimportant
considering that natural life can certainly function without it, but what about
Destiny?
Have you
ever thought to ask God the significance of saving our souls? Well, I have, and what was revealed to me was
the matter of Destiny. Destiny as I
understand it, is the plan of God assigned to your life. It’s important to understand that God has
attached Destiny to the soul and not the life of the body.
Scripture
says: “… He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until
the day of Christ Jesus.”
I
believe that God seeks a finished work from every living soul. According to the above scripture from
Philippians 1:6, God will carry it on to completion and until the day Jesus
returns. The real dilemma is the matter
of man’s will versus God’s will.
Therefore, when we save our soul or accept the gift of life from the
finished works of Christ, we now have access once again to the original Will of
God that was set aside for our lives. Jesus
came that we might have access again to the plan of God; the abundant life God
envisioned for us when He created us.
Now, as a living soul we still at any moment and probably do at every
moment, face the decision to continue on with the Will of God, or to resort back
to life under our own authority. This
remains a big question for man, because the Will of God is always to serve a
wide scope of purposes, and for the benefit of a larger idea, plan, and
goal. This basically equates to a life
of personal sacrifice for man, and God knows the difficulties, so He gives His
spirit without limit; which is poured out or released by Christ Jesus.
God is
not purely interested in the living soul; however, God is committed to move
heaven and earth for The Living Will of God.
Thus, the question is: “are you a living soul” or “are you a living
will”.
Think
about a “will” and what it means and represents. The beauty of being in God’s Will is that you
can petition the courts of Heaven once you’ve obtained God’s Will, and He will
always honor His Will. Why? Because Destiny is at stake. God’s plan is at stake. So, we don’t show up crying; we simply go to
God in confidence and say: “Lord, according to the Will I have received by your
Spirit for my life……” The Lord will then
make a judgment to protect His Will and purposes. That is why scripture says, “the battle is
not yours; it’s the Lord’s.” Inside of
God’s Will we are protected. Outside of
His Will we are loved, but we are not protected fully, and if we are ever on
the opposite side of His Will when a ruling is being made, we will feel
it.
Ultimately,
when God says save your soul; He is saying; preserve the Will of God for your
life. Now, there are people who will not
pursue Destiny to a sacrificial degree who will still find themselves in the
realm of Destiny. These are people who
have even the slightest degree of belief in Christ (faith of a mustard seed),
but who have a strong sense of what they are on earth to accomplish. Therefore, the Will of God is still God’s
main agenda. Not to mention, God has so
much confidence in the power of the finished works of Christ, and He knows
that the slightest degree of belief, is enough to preserve His Will and govern
man’s decisions.
So, "Zoe Life" is a number of things. It’s a
return to life the way God envisions it; the abundant life. It’s the promise of eternal life; life
abundantly. It’s the breath of God;
God’s Will. It’s life under God’s protection. And it’s the regenerated soul. Zoe life is living water! It’s the water Jesus spoke about in John
4:14, when he said:
“… but
whoever drinks of the water that I will give them shall never thirst. Indeed, the water that I give them will
become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
Today
and every day that I arise, I’m faced with the question of whether I will
accept Zoe Life or if I will settle for life according to man. Part of the footprint of my life, is that
I’ve never been quite content with life according to man. I’ve always sought after God, and I presume
that will continue; for that is essentially the Will of God for Man.
This is
my offering for today. Thanks for
walking with me.
Remember to go within that you may never go without. The God within you awaits you. Until our paths collide again, I wish you Peace, Love, Life, and Complete Wholeness in Christ.
In Service,
